Reporting to the Senior Engineering Director for MindLogger, this is a Full-time, exempt position.

The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking a Senior Backend/DevOps Engineer for Mindlogger, a platform that empowers clinicians, researchers, and educators to digitally deliver mental health assessments and interventions for children, teens, and young adults. This 20-month position will help CMI, through its partnership with California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), build the next generation of the MindLogger platform. As part of CMI’s research team, our mission is to accelerate the pace of scientific innovation and discovery in mental health and learning, and help foster collaborations that can test, improve upon, and adopt innovative solutions for the benefit of every child.

The Senior Backend/DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in the evolution of the MindLogger platform, owning all evaluation and internal implementation of solutions on the backend. You will maintain a deep technical knowledge of the MindLogger platform and drive the transition of our DevOps processes and infrastructure from external vendors in-house. As an individual contributor, you’ll immerse yourself in our backend codebase and be responsible for driving architectural decisions while working collaboratively to amplify the performance, security, and accessibility of our APIs. Working closely with the Engineering Director and Senior Engineering Director, you will help define the strategy and vision for the product (10%), implement features on the backend system and manage DevOps processes and infrastructure (50%), and architect and design future features for external execution/implementation (40%).

The Child Mind Institute is proud to be named a Great Place to Work-Certified company! Our competitive compensation and benefits include medical insurance, 401(k), paid parental leave, dependent care, flexible work schedules, discounted tickets and entertainment perks programs.
